Inspired by the Bible book of Acts 2, Insulin follows Emma Puah, a former pioneer in the filed of Medicine. Her work helped millions of children. After a near fatal accident that left her paralyzed from the waist down, Emma stopped her research. Her in home therapist confronts her with the idea that she is wasting her life by how she is living it, and shows her a way to change. Now alone, Emma is trapped in her wheel chair unable to get to her insulin. She is in a battle both physically and spiritually, to live.
The time lapse of Emma on the ground was filmed with a camera attached to a kitchen timer on the ceiling. It had to be filmed twice because the camera angle was incorrect during the first run. It was filmed in time lapse taking an hour each time. The actress wore hockey pads under her dress to pad her hips from the metal bars on the wheelchair since she spent so much time in her side. Insulin was a 168 Film Festival Speed Film Competition winner.
